Jamaican entertainer Zebra sentenced

Entertainer Garfield ‘Zebra’ Vassell was this morning sentenced to 30 years at hard labour in the St Catherine Circuit Court.



The entertainer, who was represented by attorney-at-law Everton Dewar was convicted on Tuesday for carnal abuse and buggery.



The crown led evidence that the entertainer who is from Spanish Town, sexually assaulted the teenaged daughter of his girlfriend.



He was held in June last year, after eluding the police for four months.



Zebra who was released in 2008 on rape charges, has hits such as "Redder than Red" and "Rupert".
