Six killed in California drive-by shootings

Police in the United States (US) state of California say a gunman has killed six people in separate drive-by shootings near the city of Santa Barbara.



Police officials say they are probing whether the shootings are linked to a video posted on the social network site YouTube in which a young man complains of repeated rejection by women and threatens to take revenge.



It’s reported that the suspected gunman was found dead in his car with a bullet wound, but it is unclear if the wound was self-inflicted.



The police say there were nine crime scenes and add that seven people are being treated at hospital for bullet wounds.



Witnesses described seeing a black BMW speeding through the streets, with shots being fired at people.
