Eight children dead after a mass shooting in Louisiana, police say

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (AP) — Authorities in Louisiana in the US say eight children were killed in the “domestic disturbance.” The victims ranging in age from one to 14 years old. The shooting occurred around 6 a.m. on Sunday, according to Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith. He said a total of 10 people shot. Officials said they were still gathering details about the crime scene, which extended across three locations. Smith said the suspected shooter was fatally shot by police during a vehicle chase.

The Reggae Girlz booked their spots in the Concacaf W Championship after finishing atop Group B of the Concacaf W Qualifiers with a perfect record after a 2-0 win over Guyana yesterday at the National Stadium. Skipper Khadija Shaw found the back of the net in the eighth minute of the contest, while Shania Hayles book-ended the scoring in the 88th. Despite the close scoreline, it was all Jamaica on the night as the Girlz controlled proceedings from kick-off to the final whistle.
