Two persons have been charged after a 65-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were injured in a reported chopping incident along the Annotto Bay to Islington main road in St Mary on Wednesday, the police say
Charged are Jevaun Phillips and Tonilyn Blackburn, whom investigators say had outstanding warrants at the time of their arrest.
Police reports indicate that on Wednesday, two complainants were travelling from Annotto Bay towards Islington when an altercation developed involving occupants of a grey Subaru motor car.
During the incident, a 29-year-old man sustained injuries to his wrist and head, while a 65-year-old woman received multiple chop wounds. Both victims were taken to hospital, treated, and later released.
Following investigations, Phillips and Blackburn were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Commanding Officer for the St Mary Police Division, Superintendent Anthony Wallace, urged members of the public to resolve disputes peacefully.
“We are urging members of the public to practice conflict resolution and to exercise patience and restraint when faced with disputes or disagreements. Acts of violence continue to place lives at risk and negatively impact communities,” he said.
