St James man charged over shooting in Trelawny

Thirty-nine-year-old Angrea Morrison, otherwise called ‘Mantis’, a mason of Providence Heights, St James, has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Hastings district, Deeside, Trelawny, last October.

Morrison has been charged with shooting with intent, using a firearm to commit a felony, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and assault at common law.

Twenty-five-year-old Rayon Morrison, otherwise called ‘Tendeh’, a construction worker of Hastings district, Deeside, Trelawny, was previously charged in relation to the same incident.

According to police reports, at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, a man was walking along a roadway in Hastings district when he was allegedly attacked by Rayon and Angrea Morrison. 

The police say both men brandished a firearm and opened gunfire at him.

The man reportedly escaped without injury and later made a report to the police.

Investigators subsequently arrested and charged Rayon Morrison on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Angrea Morrison was arrested on Saturday, May 9, and charged on Sunday, May 17, following an identification parade.

He is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court in St James on Monday, July 13.
