PriceSmart Inc, operator of membership warehouse clubs across the Americas, plans to double its store count in Jamaica to four by next year.

“The company purchased land in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and leased land located on South Camp Road, Jamaica, where we plan to open our third and fourth warehouse clubs in Jamaica in the summer and fall of 2026, respectively,” PriceSmart said in its annual report.

PriceSmart Jamaica sales increased 13 per cent in 2025 and 14 per cent in 2024, about twice the growth rate of the wider Caribbean, which posted gains of seven per cent and six per cent in the respective periods.

Caribbean performance, though not broken out by country, closely mirrored the company’s overall trajectory, with group revenue climbing approximately seven per cent to US$5.3 billion for the fiscal year ending August 2025.

The company said it executed a land lease for its fourth warehouse club at South Camp Road in Kingston in the first quarter, which began in September.

“The club will be built on a three-acre property,” PriceSmart noted.

PriceSmart first disclosed planning approval for Montego Bay store in March 2020.

“The club will be built on a five-acre property and is anticipated to open in the summer of 2026,” PriceSmart said in its new report.

PriceSmart operates on a membership-based model, offering bulk shopping and exclusive deals to customers who pay an annual fee. The retailer opened its first Jamaican store at Red Hills Road in Kingston in 2001, and its second in Portmore, a dormitory town in St Catherine, in 2022.

PriceSmart currently operates 56 warehouse clubs across 12 countries and one US territory. With the addition of the new Jamaican locations and a new store in the Dominican Republic, its total store count is set to reach 59 by the end of 2026.
