Grenada to implement law to cut electricity bills
Grenada says it will be implementing new laws aimed at reducing the cost of electricity in the country.
In delivering the Throne Speech in Parliament yesterday, Governor General Dame Cecile La Grenade said a new Electricity Supply Act would be tabled in Parliament.
The new law will cover issues such as the setting of tariffs, the use of renewable sources of energy and provision of regulation by the Public Utilities Commission.
The Governor General told Parliament that the high cost of electricity remains a constraint to Grenada’s growth and competitiveness.
