Ken Boothe makes debut performance in Mexico City

After more than five decades in show business, Ken Boothe still packs a wallop. The legendary reggae crooner dubbed Mr Rocksteady, famous for hits such as Train is Coming, Everything I Own, and Artibella, put on a show-stopping performance in a sold-out Salon Covadonga in Mexico City on Saturday night.

It was the first time Boothe was performing in Mexico or Central America, and he tore the house down. Boothe was the sole artiste on the show, and was backed by an all-star local band. People travelled from as far as Costa Rica and El Salvador

to see the iconic entertainer

perform.

The organisers, TNT Discos, were so impressed, they were forced to admit that the event was not only one of the largest ever reggae concerts held in that city, but also one of the most exciting, as the eager crowd sang every note of each song Boothe performed.

Hugely popular

Boothe's popularity in Central and South America may have been underestimated, as even an autograph session that preceded the concert was oversubscribed. Things became so intense, that several fans were not allowed

to enter the venue as a safety precaution. The incredible excitement had definitely set

the stage for the entertainer's electrifying performance that was unleashed the following day.
