Ophthalmologist Dr Gabrielle Henry named Miss Universe Jamaica 2025
Dr Gabrielle Henry is Miss Universe Jamaica 2025. She was crowned by Miss Universe Jamaica 2024 Rachel Silvera on Saturday at the AC Hotel Kingston.
Miss Universe Jamaica East 2025 Troy-Ann Anderson was first runner-up, Matea Smith, second runner-up, and the winner of the Best Evening Wear sectional award.
Specialising in ophthalmology, the newly crowned queen is a advocate for the visually impaired. Her See Me Foundation provides educational and economic opportunities for persons who are blind or have reduced vision.
Anderson is a performer, passionate about dance. She graduated from Northern Caribbean University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration (accounting).
Smith is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in behavioural and cognitive neuroscience. She is currently pursuing her dream of becoming a surgeon. Diagnosed with hip dysplasia at a young age, she underwent three surgeries that ended her track and field ambitions.
SECTIONAL AWARDEES
A trio of winners took home the Altruism Award. Sharing the honour were Henry, Keandra Wellington and Tasharrie McLean.
Henry, who also took home the sectional prize for Best Personality and the Media Challenge Award, tied for Best Swimwear with Shiann Excell, the Essence of Style awardee.
Other sectional awardees include Esther Moore, who received the Social Media Award; Miss Universe Jamaica West 2025 Samantha McFarlane, Go-getter Award; Rajivea Soman, Most Photogenic; and Miss Universe Jamaica Central 2025 Akedia Morgan, Spirit of the Pageant Award.
Barbie Mudahy, the 51-year-old marketing professional, took home the Miss Congenial Award.
A performing artist who is formally trained in voice and piano, Henry will represent Jamaica at the 74th Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to be held at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand, on November 21.
