As dancehall artiste Armanii continues to build momentum on local and international stages, the Snapchat hitmaker is preparing to deliver new music tailored to one of his most loyal audiences – the ladies. The entertainer is set to release an extended version of his debut album The Impact titled P G L A on today, a project he says was inspired directly by fan demand.
“ P G L A stands for Pretty Girls Love Armanii, that’s something the fans have been saying for a while now, especially the ladies, so it just felt natural to turn that into a project,” Armanii told The Gleaner.
“The ladies asked for more songs dedicated to them, so I had to deliver,” he continued.
But its more than just dropping a few new songs. Armanii explained that he aims to “empower” and “uplift” the ladies, while still keeping that vibe where they can enjoy themselves.
Since dropping the album in December, Armanii has earned several global recognitions, including being named Billboard’s Caribbean Rookie for the Month of February.
“Mi appreciate all the love – from Jamaica and overseas,” Armanii said. It show seh the music a reach people and connect, and that’s what it’s all about. Mi just want keep building and making the fans proud and showing some extra love.”
This extra love the singer is showcasing is also expected to be on full display when he takes the stage at Pic-Nic on April 4 for Vacae Weekend.
Known for its vibrant pink theme and stylish, high-energy atmosphere, Pic-Nic has quickly become a favourite among female patrons – making Armanii a fitting addition to the lineup.
“Armanii has been doing amazing things for dancehall both locally and internationally, and his connection with female audiences makes him an ideal fit for Pic-Nic,” said Franz Kentish, event organiser. “We’re creating a space that is visually appealing, energetic and centred around the lifestyle experience, and his music complements that perfectly,” he continued.
Armanii says fans can expect a seamless blend of new music and live energy come April. “Everything connect,” he said. “The project, the performance, the vibe — it’s all about giving the fans something they can enjoy and remember.”
