WiFete returns with Machel Montano as headliner

Fresh off his 12th Road March title in Trinidad and Tobago with Encore, Machel Montano is set to headline the return of WiFete to Jamaica on Saturday, April 11, in New Kingston.

The event runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and is set to bring together soca and dancehall on one stage, with a line-up of regional, Trinidadian, and Jamaican acts and deejays.

In 2023, WiFete featured Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Iwer George, Voice, Nailah Blackman, GBM Nutron, and Skinny Fabulous, alongside dancehall acts including Agent Sasco, Valiant, and Stalk Ashley.

For 2026, Machel Montano leads the announcement, with additional artistes to be confirmed.

“This is a festival like no other for the soca season in Jamaica,” said promoter Kibwe McGann. “It’s a full concert experience with multiple artistes and performances. We’re bringing in world-class DJs and the artistes defining the season, and we’re bringing back the man we started it with, Machel Montano.”

WiFete takes place the night before the Carnival in Jamaica Road March and is designed as a large-scale concert experience within the carnival calendar.
