Seen here is a section of the January 12, 1971 record crowd which turned out to watch the final and deciding match of the Third World Tournament between Australia and New Zealand. Australia won 48-42 to take the title for the second time.

The 1971 World Netball Championships was the third edition of the Netball World Cup. It was held in Kingston, from December 31 to January 13. There were nine teams. Australia retained the Championship title and, New Zealand finished runners-up and England third.
