French envoy to strengthen cultural ties on Jamaica visit

French Consul General for the West Indies, M. Jacques Boizet, is in Jamaica for a five-day visit aimed at deepening cultural and diplomatic ties. During his stay, he will meet with Governor Sir Kenneth Blackburne and engage with the Alliance Française, reflecting France’s commitment to fostering closer relations through cultural exchange and dialogue.

French Consul General for W.I. on Visit

The French Consul General for the West Indies, M. Jacques Boizet, flew in yesterday by BWIA Viscount flight from Port of Spain.


Here for five days, he will call on His Excellency the Governor, Sir Kenneth Blackburne, at King’s House, and also meet members of the Alliance Française.
M. Boizet, who is paying his first visit to Jamaica, joined the French Foreign Service in 1947 and served in Paris, Manila, and the Far East. Before coming to the West Indies, he was First Secretary and Chargé d’Affaires at the French Embassy in Manila.
M. Boizet will be entertained by the Alliance Française headquarters at Caledonia Crescent.


Mr. Wellsley Bourke, French Consul in Jamaica, met him at Palisadoes Airport yesterday.
