The Cliff Hotel’s fusion restaurant Zest was brought to us in 2015 by Delius Shirley, son of Jamaican Chef Norma Shirley, and Chef Cindy Hutson. This getaway restaurant, with a surprising history and international siblings across Miami, is where Jamaicans can enjoy fine, five-star dining without taking a flight. Chase those red-orange sunset views over breathtaking blue waves while you fill your soul and feast on Zest’s pan-seared red snapper in tomato Creole sauce served on creamy corn polenta alongside sautéed vegetables.

This Jamaican Jambalaya marries, in place of shellfish and other seafood options typically found in a traditional New Orleans Jambalaya, locally sourced jerk sausage with slow-cooked creamy cheese polenta in a smoked tomato broth, with corn and onions to make a sauce. As this is Zest’s first Restaurant Week, they wanted to make sure their dish was tailored to a Jamaican audience to provide a unique Jamaican experience. This Jamaican experience is as authentic as it can be, as Zest ensures all their ingredients are locally farmed to ensure you can really taste the island flavours.

Upon arrival, we recommend you try to get some terrace seating so you can get the fullest experience of The Cliff; however, it’s no less beautiful inside as the views are just as visible. Dress to the nines and take the trip to the Zest Restaurant this Restaurant Week for a taste of Jamaican elegance and excellence.
