Heineken launches Heineken Silver

Beer brand Heineken has added a new addition to its line-up: Heineken Silver. A twist on its classic beer, Heineken Silver captures Heineken’s rich, full-bodied essence – with less bitterness. Starting this month, it will be available throughout Jamaica.

Heineken Silver has a unique brewing process. Unlike most beers, it is brewed at an ice-cold temperature of -1 degree, which gives it a smooth and balanced taste. This lagering process also helps retain Heineken’s signature fruity aroma that is less bitter, making it a good choice for young adult consumers looking for new and exciting taste experiences.

“Heineken is intentional in creating meaningful connections. In the spirit of this, we wanted to create a more accessible taste profile where quality meets innovation. We wanted a beer that would be more inclusive and interesting to young adult consumers, and Heineken Silver is the outcome. This new brew brings a subtle twist on Heineken Original, providing a smoother taste while maintaining its premium status,” said Amoye Phillpotts-Brown, Heineken’s brand manager.

The bright, golden-yellow lager beer emerges from a blend of 100 per cent natural ingredients, malted barley, water, and a small but significant extra called A-Yeast. It is brewed at 4 per cent ABV and available in a 330ml glass bottle or can with silver packaging.

Phillpotts-Brown shared that Heineken has perfected its craft at its 5-star brewery, where its beer is fermented in horizontal tanks, creating the perfect pressure for A-Yeast instead of the commonly used vertical tanks.

“The Jamaican beer market is dynamic and vibrant, and we are thrilled to introduce Heineken Silver as a variant. This beer is set to be the hallmark of cosmopolitan taste as it breaks free from stereotyped flavours and brings people together, regardless of their background or gender. We are excited to see how consumers will embrace the refreshing and innovative experience that Heineken Silver brings,” Phillpotts-Brown added.

Heineken Silver is the latest addition to the brand’s offerings in Jamaica. Non-alcoholic brew, Heineken 0.0, was launched in 2020.
