Worthy Park toasts rum producer win with exciting mixes
Not to ruminate on previous accolades, but Worthy Park Estate has secured the Rum Producer of the Year title for 2025 from the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), marking yet another win for the Jamaican distillery. To toast the achievement, the Food team recently stopped by Mystic Thai to try some of the exciting rum-inspired mixes.
“To celebrate this milestone, we prepared a few mixes. The Worthy Park Select makes a perfect pair for cane juice syrup, lime and mint. The brand’s overproof rum is a smooth combination when working with cranberry juice and grapefruit soda. There is the Worthy Park 109 that creates harmony with peach schnapps and guava purée, as well as passion fruit juice and ginger beer. Then there is the Worthy Park Old Fashioned Mix, made with Worthy Park Single Estate Reserve,” one of Mystic Thai’s resident mixologists, Conroy Plummer, shared with Food.
For seven years, Plummer has thoroughly enjoyed formulating, pouring, shaking and stirring enticing cocktails, much to the delight of local and international palates.
“I have been with Mystic Thai for two years now, and the experience has been amazing! I’m able to interact with new people. And many of our customers return to the bar to try the great items from our incredible menu,” he explained.
With a refreshed approach to noteworthy ingredients, Plummer prides himself on being consistent when making his signature drinks. “There are several drinks that remain signature on the menu, and it is my job to provide the right balance in flavours and deliver on the consistency,” he said, adding, “I love to experiment with new flavours as well.”
When the ideal spirits meet innovation, it is there that Plummer shines, presenting master mixes with a warm and inviting smile. And, as a showman in his field, he meticulously crafts his alcohol-infused libations, valuing good feedback after the fact, since he always ensures that customers are pleased following each order.
“I love working with Worthy Park Estate Rum. The brand is diverse and offers a good mix for just about everyone. There are beautiful drinks for women, which consist of elegant notes for them to sip and savour. And then there are those stronger portions for the men who appreciate the complex components in the mix,” he added.
For those who have never been to Mystic Thai, the mixologist revealed, “Expect a brilliant presentation of the atmosphere and cuisines, a phenomenal dining experience and drinks that raise the bar in enchanting taste.”
For your added pleasure, Plummer presents a few fantastic Worthy Park-inspired cocktails for you to try at home. Sip responsibly and enjoy!
