Baugh surgery a success, JLP thankful
The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) last night announced that Dr Ken Baugh successfully underwent surgery last Friday and is recovering.
In a release, the JLP said the surgery was performed by a team of Jamaican surgeons at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI).
JLP leader Andrew Holness said the party and other Jamaicans were relieved and happy at the news.
"We are glad to hear that Dr Baugh had a successful surgery and wish him a speedy and full recovery," Holness said.
"Dr Baugh is a true champion of Jamaica and the JLP. We are happy that we have another chance at borrowing from his brotherhood, wisdom and courage."
Holness extended thanks to the Jamaica medical community and the team at the University Hospital, including Professor Ivor Crandon, head of neurosurgery, assisted by Prof Ren Holness, Dr Peter Charles and Dr Hyacinth Harding, head of the Anaesthesiology Department.
"We also must thank the nurses and other support staff who made the successful surgery. All were so professional and efficient in ensuring that Dr Baugh is now in a better situation. We owe a debt of gratitude to our health professionals who have once again proven they are among the world's best," the JLP said.
