A suspect in a string of serial rapes across Portmore, St Catherine, has been nabbed, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has reported.

The man was arrested on Friday evening in Congreve Park in Portmore.

The JCF is asking anyone who may have information to assist with the investigations to visit the police headquarters in Portmore.

It was reported earlier this week that a manhunt was under way to nab the person responsible for the rapes in the area as more than a dozen women had been attacked. The police said that the serial rapist broke into houses in Bridgeport, Cumberland, Portmore Pines, and Silver Stone and attacked the victims at knifepoint between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m.

His victims were single women and teens, ranging from 19 to 60 years old. CCTV footage was released and was being circulated on social media. Women were advised to be on the alert as reports suggested that he did not use condoms.
