Take stand against Israeli apartheid

THE EDITOR, Sir:
Israeli sharpshooters are practising their skill with live bullets on unarmed, peacefully protesting Palestinians, killing dozens and wounding hundreds. This must stop. It is criminal. It is this kind of behaviour that has led Hamas to the extreme position of opposing the very existence of Israel.
I am writing this letter to call on all decent citizens and countries to boycott Israeli goods and cease all trade with Israel until its imprisonment of Gaza comes to an end and genuine peace talks begin.
Jamaica led the way some decades ago in bringing the world to cease trade with South Africa and force an end to apartheid. Israel's treatment of Palestinians is another apartheid. It MUST STOP.
I am not anti-Jew. I am anti-Israeli conduct towards Palestinians. Although some Israelis also deplore their country's actions, I will probably, by this letter, lose some Jewish friends. But this will only last, I hope, for a time, until justice is done in the Middle East.
