Shelly-Ann is a superstar
THE EDITOR, Madam:
Reigning world champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has become the fastest woman in the world in track and field sprint. On June 6, she clocked 10.63 seconds in winning the women’s 100m final at the JOA /JAAA Olympic Destiny Series meet at the National Stadium. Shericka Jackson was a shocker – finishing in second place over Olympic champion Elaine Thompson Herah, who finished third.
Also, on June 27 Fraser-Pryce doubled her performance by winning the women’s 200m dash, in a time of 21.79 seconds, at the National Championships. She has created wonders. She is indeed a superstar. She is a great go-getter athlete.
Shericka Jackson powered her way into second position again, in 200m dash, ahead of Thompson Herah. That was a splendid performance from Shericka. She looks very impressive indeed.
Overall, we extend our support to all our athletes and congratulate them on their wonderful performances – to the winners and the losers; but special ‘big-up’ to the ‘Pocket Rocket’, Shericka, Elaine, Danielle and the other athletes. Let’s pray for them, and hope that they will do very well in the Tokyo Olympics.
