Negril Post Office in deplorable condition

THE EDITOR, Madam:

The post office is one of the most dilapidated buildings in Negril, it is in a deplorable state. Some windows boarded up, doors covered in rust, there are cracks on the walls and part of the ceiling. There is a strip light hanging from the ceiling, which surprisingly is still working!

There is a large cactus plant so close to the main mailbox, you get a ‘jook’ when trying to use it. Half of the mailboxes do not have doors. The building also needs a railing to assist the elderly to climb the stairs.

The post office building is in dire need of help. Right now it is a nasty eyesore in the middle of a prime tourist area.
