Minimum wage woes for employers

THE EDITOR, Madam:
I am sure that prime minister Holness meant well when he promised to double the minimum wage over time his party is elected for the third term.
He has no idea how frightening this would be for those of us who need hired help and must pay from meagre means. This is great news for workers who earn the minimum wage or close to it but devastating for those of us who must hire workers and pay them from our earnings which are unlikely to double.
This is disturbing. A number of us are deeply concerned about the new minimum wage proposal by the prime minister. How does this play out, time will tell.
