Follow Jesus’ teachings to deal with hopelessness
THE EDITOR, Madam:
It is ironical that a person who commits a suicide is someone who believes in life, and happiness. No one comes into this world with a doom-and-gloom state of mind about the things, or, expectedly ask, “Why am I here?”
Suicide could be seen as a twisted love of life the same way that love may be reduced to a catastrophe. Happiness and hope are the pillars that fall apart when someone decides to go into the dark unknown.
Perhaps, the person who decides to commit suicide, life means more than the realities and challenges they are facing. Hope and happiness give meaning to life.
When Jesus started down the Mount of Olives, his large crowd of disciples were happy and praised God because of all the miracles they had seen.
If people follow Jesus’ teachings, perhaps they would be served with the real remedy and antidote against hopelessness and suicides.
