A prayer for Easter

THE EDITOR, Madam:

As we are in the height of the Easter season that is mixed with every emotion and fear, we are reminded that God, who created this universe, has a love for us that exceeds our own imagination.

The faith that we have gained sustains us through our despair and gives us hope and vision for a future bright. Let’s not forget as we are sinners what could likely have been the prayer of even Judas, for the Son of God.

Inspired by ‘The Rope and the Cross’ (written by the late Rev Father Easton Lee)

The Light He Gives to Share rises like the morning sun at dawn,

A quiet blaze that wakes the waiting earth with sitting mountains and water at its feet.

Through softened gold the shadows fade and yawn,

As every heart remembers its true worth.

He brings the light that teaches us to see

Not only Him, but all we’re called to be.

A love so vast it moves like wind and sea,

A gift He pours with calm divinity.

His radiance falls on every searching face,

A whisper saying, “Walk Good with Me in peace.”

And in that glow, we find our rightful place,

Where fear grows dim and every doubt can cease.

So may His love flow through our lives with care,

For He gives light that we, in turn, may share.
