An open letter of prayer to Wolmers’ Boys’ School

THE EDITOR, Madam:

To the parents, family, Principal Dwight Pennycooke, staff, students, and community of Wolmer’s Boys’ School,

On behalf of Churchmead C of E School in the United Kingdom, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the parents, grieving family, friends, classmates, teachers, and the local community mourning the tragic loss of your fourth-form student.

Though miles separate us across the Atlantic, our hearts sank upon hearing this news. We wrap our arms around his family and community during this period of immense pain and shock. We are lifting up your entire school and home community before God —praying for divine comfort for his parents and loved ones, strength for his home neighbourhood, peace for his classmates, wisdom and emotional resilience for his teachers, and steady guidance for Principal Pennycooke as he leads the institution through this dark valley.

We stand together on Psalm 34:18: “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Please know that his family, his community, and Wolmer’s Boys’ School are covered in constant prayer from across the waters.
