Because of the diverse nature of the island’s geographic features, many dream homes continue to remain undetectable – a world unto themselves, observable only by sea, air, or made known by the rare spoken word.

This secreted, featured beach house on the coast of Llandovery, St Ann, with its private cove, was spotted from a small expedition craft out at sea, with those among us advancing ashore to discover its unseen virtues.

This is symmetry in architecture. Human beings are psychologically drawn to it! Aristotle, the historic philosopher of great knowledge, said that symmetry is one of the foremost forms of beauty.

It includes harmony, order and balance, residing in concert with each other. This uniform façade, with its simply crafted lines, is credited with all those traits.

The upstairs wooden floor section of the overall 3,500 square foot area acquaints you with two incredibly desirable bedrooms leading out to a timber glass-railed balcony (with a fire pit). From here, savour the blue illimitable sea views and infinity pool below, along with the well-kept garden. Two full bathrooms, tiled generously from floor to ceiling, have the principal one putting on a rousing show with double vessel sinks in a granite counter.

Downstairs, tiled in porcelain, circulates efficiently with an off-white, open-plan living, dining, and granite kitchen with waterfall eating counter. Two individual enclosed mini-spaces allow for pull-out double sofa beds. A full bath is also to be found.

An awesome floating spiral staircase is a sculptural work of art, although a nightmare to install inside after being custom-built elsewhere in its entirety.

The property was originally owned by the former managing director of one of Jamaica’s leading banks, who sold it 25 years ago.

It was remodelled three years ago and we are all pleasantly surprised and pleased with its transformation. But, if the truth be told, it’s the natural coastal setting that allows the house to really shine at its brightest.

We have had the good fortune of finding this architectural treasure. The search continues for the others.
