J’can model Romaine Dixon shoots and scores!
SAINT featured in new NBA menswear collaboration collection
New York-based fashion star Romaine Dixon is holding court in the just-out menswear collab collection with Purple Brand and sports clothing company Mitchell & Ness that features National Basketball Association (NBA) team-branded apparel.
The Jamaican SAINT International model’s likeness is prominently displayed on Purple’s web portal for their ‘Hardwood Classics collection’ of bomber jackets, snap pants, mesh tees, mesh shorts and mesh jerseys for fans of NBA teams such as the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heats, Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls.
Shot in Soho, Manhattan earlier this month by Japanese photographer Masato Onoda, Dixon told Living that he thoroughly enjoyed the two-day shoot, being a basketball enthusiast himself.
“I do play for fun and am trying to get better at it,” he admits. “It’s a great sport and I love it. I play on the [basketball] courts in uptown New York as I live in Hamilton Heights.”
Dixon counts LA Lakers forward Lebron James, Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry and Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving as his top three NBA players. “These guys are just incredible,” he raved of their deft athleticism.
Personal game-time, however, is on pause for the SAINT star as current freezing temperatures in the metropolis have limited outdoor activity.
“I’m not playing right now, it’s super-cold,” he bemoaned. “Winter in New York is crazy. I saw an Instagram post the other day that the past week here has been colder than Alaska and I was like, “I need to go home and get some Jamaican sun.”
Dixon, who tied the knot last October to Dominican model Esmerdis Lorenzo for a Big Apple-venued wedding, disclosed that they are planning a trip to The Rock soon.
“It’s been four months since we got hitched. Married life is awesome. My next trip home would be to celebrate our anniversary in October, or in the summer.”
