The 32nd staging of Reggae Sumfest was officially launched in the Second City of Montego Bay on Wednesday night at the Iberostar Resort, setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable festival. The event came alive with spirited performances from Tommy Lee Sparta and Bugle, even as attendees felt the absence of co-founder Robert ‘Ducksie’ Russell for the first time in the festival’s history.
None other than the godfather of dancehall, Vybz Kartel, and the indomitable R&B legend Toni Braxton, two powerhouse acts poised to electrify the Sumfest stage, will headline this year’s celebration, set for July 13-19, throughout the tourism capital. As the countdown begins, all eyes are on Montego Bay for one of the Caribbean’s biggest music experiences. Something Extra brings you the highlights.
