This summer, The Creative Factory is turning dining into theatre with Scenes at the Factory. The series started on June 27 and will run until August 31. Presented in collaboration with CPJ Wines, guests will enjoy an immersive, multi-sensory journey where gastronomy meets technology – a first of its kind in Jamaica.

For five weekends, a new international chef will bring global flair and flavour to the Factory’s dynamic stage. This week’s featured talent is Chef Dwight Smith, a Toronto-based culinary innovator with over 15 years of professional experience and a Red Seal certification – one of Canada’s most prestigious culinary designations.

On Saturday, Chef Smith’s thoughtfully curated menu blends bold Caribbean ingredients with modern technique, offering three and a half hours of delectable dishes such as: sesame-crusted seared blue fin tuna with crisp wonton and mango-pineapple salsa; curry lobster with pumpkin risotto and braised callaloo; 24hr braised beef short rib with truffle pomme purée and red wine jus and a decadent tiramisu with rum-soaked ladyfingers and coffee cream with a hint of coconut. Each course is paired with CPJ’s diverse portfolio of premium wines.

“At CPJ, we believe wine should enhance the story on every plate,” said Shereika Myers, category manager of wines at CPJ. “Scenes at the Factory gives us the perfect stage to showcase how our wines can transform a meal into a memory. This week we will showcase the Silverado Sauvignon Blanc, Fleurs de Prairie Rosé, La Crema Pinot Gris, KW Pinotage, Rodney Strong Chardonnay, Mouton Cadet Bordeaux and the IL Moscato.”

Beyond the food, Scenes at the Factory is a full-bodied experience, using projection, lighting, and spatial design to immerse guests in a story with every bite. The factory space (at Garmex Complex) becomes an evolving canvas, transforming with each chef’s unique vision.

“We decided to elevate the palates and dining experience with a brand new concept in Jamaica because technology is our magic box and we know Jamaicans enjoy a good culinary experience,” said Jason Neish, concept creator and managing director at The Creative Factory. “With CPJ’s support and our international chef line-up, we’re creating an unforgettable fusion of art, technology, and taste for an emotional storytelling through food.”

On Friday, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., guests are treated to the Chef’s Table, where they are able to observe Chef Smith’s technique and style before enjoying his memorable gastronomy creation and on Sunday, starting at noon, a brunch event is curated to kick start the week in fine dining style.
