The JMMB Group recently hosted its Men of Legacy: Reason and Lyme event, a relaxed evening designed to create space for honest reasoning, meaningful connection, and overall well-being for men in business. Held in the cool hills of St Andrew, the gathering offered an environment where men could unwind, enjoy friendly games, and engage in open discussions about health, financial wellness, family, identity, purpose, and the building of legacy.

The evening featured thoughtful insights from Dr Mario Evon Guthrie, who guided the men through a powerful conversation on wellness and the link between mental, physical, and financial health.

“So many of us move through life carrying silent pressures – to provide, to lead, to stay strong – without ever tending to our own well-being,” Dr Guthrie shared. He emphasised that when men are supported to take care of themselves, it not only benefits them personally but also strengthens their families, businesses, and communities. “That is how real legacy is built,” he added.

Kevin Foreman, country SME relationship specialist, JMMB Bank, reflected on why the event matters for men in business: “Men often carry a lot on our shoulders – expectations, responsibilities, private struggles – and many times we do it in silence.” He explained that Men of Legacy was created to give men a space to slow down, reason, and connect with one another. “The conversations we started here are the kind we want to continue building on, because when men are strengthened, families and communities benefit too.”

Beyond networking, the event’s true value lay in exchanging perspectives, giving fellow entrepreneurs a chance to share experiences and explore opportunities together. Guests also enjoyed food, drinks, games, and meaningful conversation in a relaxed, non-competitive atmosphere.

Garfield Virgin of Virgin’s International Trading Limited called the event exceptional, noting its impact beyond just networking. “[This is] exactly the kind of thing corporate banking should do more often. It really strengthens bank-customer relationships and creates valuable networking opportunities, which is crucial in today’s banking landscape,” he added.
