Psychological research has long established why people desire to live in elevated spaces, be it a penthouse in a high-rise building or a home in the mountains.
Reasons identified for this vantage point preference include it being a haven, offering respite from the hustle and bustle of the world below and providing a sense of achievement and fulfilment, while offering scenic panoramas. Up here, the air is fresher, and it is quieter and more peaceful.
Take this fabulous hilltop home, which evokes the feeling of being on top of the world. Its external beauty lies confidently in a symmetrical design composition of order, balance, and harmony, principles appreciated by the human eye.
Interior decorative elements unveil mahogany and teak wood, for floors, columns, panelling, and so on, including custom-crafted furniture. Marble was imported from Italy for bathroom finishes.
Italian linen, world-famous for being very breathable and exceptionally soft, is utilised for bed sheets, bath towels, et cetera. Walls are painted in cool white, with treasured works of art by Jamaican masters adorning them.
The architectural layout wows, with two separate open-air garden courtyards, situated at the centre of the home, providing natural light and cooling airflow. There are four bedrooms, with private porches and en suite bathrooms with soaking tubs, indoor and outdoor rain showers, double-basin vanities, and a powder room. In addition, there is an entry porch, a foyer, an enormous living room, a games room with a pool table, and a kitchen with a butler’s pantry. There are two wet bars, an upper-level balcony, and an office. Verandahs allow leisure and recreation.
A separate cottage houses a gym and an en suite bedroom. The five-acre estate also incorporates two individual gazebos, a heated saltwater swimming pool, a plunge pool, a circular firepit with seating, and a hot tub. Completing the estate is an antique French fountain at the front, all within meticulously maintained grounds.
The solar single-story home was built in 2021, with commanding sea and mountain views. It is located 12 miles west of Montego Bay, in a secure, protected community, with its own private beach.
A residence of this calibre could hardly be omitted from the Dream House series, with all its sumptuous attributes placing it at the pinnacle of architectural delight.
