At 26, Alexa Williams is redefining what it means to balance ambition and wellbeing. An attorney-at-law by profession and certified personal trainer by passion, Williams has carved out a unique space where legal advocacy and physical strength intersect.

Her passion for fitness developed gradually rather than through a defining moment. “I can’t specifically point to any one incident that sparked my interest in fitness, but I do recall starting to go to the gym and feeling very fulfilled with every goal I achieved. It motivated me to push myself harder and to aim higher on each occasion,” Williams told Flair. “I am obsessed with becoming the strongest and most confident version of myself, and being fit allows me to do that.”

Ironically, fitness was not always part of her routine. Williams recalls that she was once well known for skipping physical education classes in high school. Over time, however, the gym transformed from something she avoided into one of the most important parts of her daily life.

While studying in law school, she began working out simply as a hobby. Gradually, the routine evolved into something essential. “It became such a non-negotiable part of my life,” she recalled. “I remember going to the gym immediately after my bar exam because I could not miss leg day that week.”

Her path into law, however, felt almost inevitable. With a mother and family members already in the profession, the field was familiar from an early age. Williams’ mother is Conveyancing and Probate Attorney Charmin Stewart-Williams.

Advocacy was also deeply ingrained in her upbringing. “My parents were always very big on speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves and for those who are underrepresented,” she explained.

After being called to the Jamaican Bar and beginning work at a law firm, the demands of the profession made fitness even more valuable. The gym became a critical outlet to decompress from the pressures of legal practice. As her knowledge grew, so did the number of people seeking her advice.

“I became a reference point for people both [inside and outside] of my social circle,” she explained. Wanting to guide others more responsibly, Williams decided to pursue formal accreditation as a personal trainer. Today, she shares fitness education and motivation through her social media platforms, @_lexiwlifts on TikTok and Instagram.

For Williams, fitness goes beyond aesthetics. Her philosophy centres on strength, health and functional movement. She hopes to create a supportive space where women feel encouraged to build strength and confidence while understanding that true fitness extends beyond appearance.

Despite her growing presence in the fitness space, Williams continues to practise law. Maintaining both careers requires discipline and organisation. “I keep a strict calendar and make sure I find time to reset each week, so I don’t get overwhelmed,” she says.

She credits mentors in both fields for shaping her journey. In fitness, she was influenced by coaches Alexander Carrington and Mark Miller, who introduced her to the value of functional training beyond aesthetics — an approach that now forms the core of her philosophy.

Williams is also inspired by Jamaican female powerlifters Sami DePass and Ayana Duhaney, whose strength and commitment to the sport continue to motivate her.

“The most fulfilling part,” she said, “is achieving a goal I set for myself or seeing someone reach theirs because of my coaching.”

Her advice to others hoping to pursue multiple passions is simple: “Go for it. Nothing tried, nothing done. Just remember to take time for yourself so you don’t burn out.”

What’s in her gym bag? Williams keeps it simple but essential: her trusted New Balance 9060 training shoes, a Yeti water bottle for hydration, and headphones to power through workouts with a playlist. She also never forgets her pre-workout supplement — and, surprisingly, kitchen sponges, a clever grip hack seasoned gym-goers know well.
