Stunning shots are all in a day's work for Shivaruby Premkanthan. The Jamaican-Sri Lankan beauty's mixed heritage features and lissome frame have made her a go-to model for photographers and luxury fashion's gatekeepers.
As testament to her demand, she appears in Emporio Armani's Spring/Summer 2026 global advertising campaign shot last year in the Moroccan desert by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Alice Goddard.
The co-ed collection from the Italian luxury house is pure European elegance with ivory drawstring trouser suits, chunky cream knitted vests, check print satin blouses, and gingham jacquard jackets.
Elsewhere, Premkanthan, who was born in London and grew up in Waterford, St Catherine, before returning Across the Pond at 13, serves serious sass in visuals for a just-out EE72 editorial.
Wearing the latest womenswear collection pieces from Chanel, Saint Laurent, Chloe, Simone Rocha, Bottega Veneta and more, the model strikes glam postures for her lensman beau Gabriel Moses.
EE72 is a quarterly fashion magazine launched last September by former British Vogue editor and global fashion powerbroker Edward Enninful.
Also on Premkanthan’s current client list is Saks Fifth Avenue. The luxury retailer recruited her for its ‘City Icons’ summer campaign, which was shot on the streets of New York City by British-Jamaican photographer Nadine Ijewere.
Of her love for the job, Premkanthan told The Gleaner in an interview back in 2025 that, "The thing about modelling that keeps me interested is definitely how fast things can change. The ups and downs get you addicted sometimes. But I feel it is more positive than negative," she said.
"The opportunities I get to meet people, the places I am positioned in, it's just this intrigue and this constant growth into the person I have become," she added.
