Man killed in Bushy Park, Clarendon

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the murder of a man in Bushy Park, Clarendon about 10:30 last night.

Philip Myrie, a 39-year-old taxi operator of Almond Terrace, in Bushy Park was shot and killed as he made his way home. 

According to the police, Myrie, was driving his grey Nissan Station wagon motor vehicle in the direction of his home when on approaching his gate, he was fired on several times.

Residents reportedly heard loud explosions sounding like gunshots and called the police.

Upon their arrival,  Myrie was found slumped over the steering of the car with what appeared to be several gunshot wounds to the upper body and head.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

This is the second shooting in recent weeks within the Bushy Park community.
