Toll road operator requests up to $110 in increased rates for Highway 2000

The operators of Highway 2000 have written to the toll authorities requesting an increase of up to $110 in toll rates come next month.

If approved, the increase will affect motorists using the Portmore, Spanish Town, Vineyards and May Pen toll plazas.

See the proposed rates below:

Portmore 
Class One - from $180 to 200
Class two – from $290 to $320
Class three – from $550 to $610

Spanish Town
Class one – from $130 to $140
Class two – from $200 to $220
Class three – from $360 to $400

Vineyard
Class one - from $360 to $400
Class two – from $520 to $580
Class three – from $990 to $1,100

May Pen
Class one – from $90 to $100
Class two – from $140 to $160
Class three – from $280 to $320

Members of the public have until June 14 to respond in writing to the proposed toll rates.
