Ochi man charged for illegal gun possession

The Ocho Rios police have charged one man for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

He is 27-year-old Renardo Williams, otherwise called ‘Tante’, of Top Milford Road in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Reports are that about 7:50 yesterday morning, Williams was walking in the vicinity of Pointe Plaza, Ocho Rios when he was accosted and searched by the police.

One Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing fifteen 9-millimetre rounds were reportedly taken from him.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.
