'I meant promise' - Holness on Jamaicans sleeping with doors open

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has taken issue with those he says appear to be waiting for the government to fail at fighting crime and who mock his promise that Jamaicans would be able to sleep with their doors open under a Jamaica Labour Party government.

Reminded of the election campaign promise at a press conference this morning, Holness said he meant it.

He said everyone should be rallying around his call instead of being ambivalent.

Holness also said there appeared to be people wishing for the current state of emergency in St James to fail.

Holness disclosed that there appears to be an attempt to drive a wedge between the Jamaica Defence Force and the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
