Teenager charged for New Kingston robbery

The St Andrew Central police have charged a teenager with robbery with aggravation following an incident that occurred on Grenada Crescent in New Kingston on Monday.

He is 18-year-old Michael Jackson, unemployed, of Cottage Hill district, Gordon Town in St Andrew.

The police say about 1:20 a.m., Jackson and a group of men, one armed with a knife, held up and robbed the complainant.

The complainant managed to escape and reported the incident to the police.

An investigation was launched and Jackson was later arrested.

He was charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

The police say his accomplices are currently being pursued.
