American woman undergoing evaluation following incident at Sangster airport
An American woman is undergoing an evaluation following a reported mental episode at the Sangster International Airport in St James today.
She is being treated by doctors at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
It is reported that the woman, said to be a dentist, was at the airport for a United Airlines flight to Las Vegas, Nevada when she and another woman got into an altercation.
During the encounter, she undressed and started acting in an erratic manner, pushing aside persons who offered her clothing and assistance.
She also hurled her belongings at persons.
The police intervened and she attacked them, while screaming expletives and embarking on a shouting rampage.
She was eventually restrained and handcuffed.
While on the floor, concerned persons attempted to put back on her underwear and covered her in items of clothing.
She was subsequently taken by the police to Cornwall Regional Hospital for evaluation.
The woman was on vacation here with friends.
