St Catherine cabbie charged with multiple sexual offences

A 44-year-old taxi operator from Linstead, St Catherine, has been charged with multiple sexual offences in relation to incidents which took place from January 2022 to December 2023.

Kirkland Young, otherwise called 'Karl', was charged on Tuesday.

He is charged with three counts each of rape, conspiracy to rape and aiding and abetting rape.

He is also charged with sexual touching, possession of child pornography, knowingly causing or inciting involvement of child pornography, conspiracy to grievous sexual assault, trafficking, misprision of a felony and failure to report to the Office of the Children's Registry.

The Linstead Criminal Investigations Branch alleges that the complainant was compelled to commit several sexual acts with Young and other men.

A report was made to the police and an investigation was launched into the matter.

Young was subsequently arrested and charged.

The police say investigations are ongoing in the matter as they believe that Young is a repeat offender.
