Grief counselling for Titchfield High following fatal crash
The Ministry of Education says it has mobilised a grief crisis team to provide comprehensive psychosocial support to students, staff, and the surrounding community of Titchfield High School in Portland arising from Tuesday's fatal crash.
Yesterday, two Titchfield High School students were killed in a traffic crash in the parish.
They died after a blue Toyota Picnic transporting students collided with a parked motor truck about 4 p.m. along the Blueberry Hill main road in Buff Bay.
Five other occupants of the vehicle, including the driver, were also injured.
The Ministry has expressed condolences to the families and friends of the students.
It says the crisis team is comprised of trained professionals equipped to offer counselling and assistance during this challenging time.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the students who tragically lost their lives in this terrible accident. We stand in solidarity with the Titchfield High School community during this difficult period and are committed to providing the necessary support to help them cope and heal," said Minister of Education Fayval Williams.
