Norbrook Equity, Project STAR, partner for community development
Norbrook Equity Partners has joined forces with Project STAR to effect positive social transformation in underserved communities across Jamaica. The partnership is valued at $3 million.
Oshane Thoms, group marketing director at Norbrook Equity Partners, said the move is a significant step that aligns with the companies’ shared commitment to creating meaningful change in people’s lives and communities.
“We are indeed delighted to have partnered with Project STAR, an initiative that directly improves the lives of Jamaicans who require, among other things, social, educational, and financial investments to bring about social transformation in their lives,” stated Thoms. “We are excited about the outcome of this partnership.”
Thoms said Norbrook Equity Partners is eager to see the positive changes that will emerge from this partnership, adding that the company’s commitment to nation-building through initiatives like Project STAR, underscores its dedication to making a lasting difference in Jamaica.
Saffrey Brown, director of Project STAR, welcomed the collaboration, noting that the partnership is expected to have a profound impact.

Project STAR is a five-year social and economic transformation project that targets under-resourced, underserved communities experiencing high levels of crime or violence. Through a comprehensive consultation process, communities assist in determining their own needs, which are further supported by extensive data and analysis.
