A 32-year-old man who allegedly used a glass bottle to injure a woman during a dispute on Rodney Street in downtown Kingston, in September has been charged.

He is Dwight Williams, also known as 'Zappa' of Rodney Street, Kingston 12. The incident occurred on September 19, the police say.

He has been charged with assault at common law, unlawful wounding and malicious destruction of property.

Williams reportedly left the scene after an initial confrontation and returned the bottle, which he allegedly threw at the woman, causing a bleeding wound.

The police say he then brandished a firearm and threatened to kill her. He also took the woman's phone and threw it to the ground, damaging the device.

Williams was apprehended on October 24.
