Last year, St Elizabeth was devastated by the effects of Hurricane Beryl.

In a move to assist some of the affected residents of the parish, and to spread a little Christmas cheer, CB Foods, in collaboration with Courts, hosted a PAN Christmas Giveback Initiative at the Black River Preparatory School, which saw 26 residents receiving much-needed support.

The recipients received essential items such as stoves, couches, mattresses, and pillows, all aimed at restoring comfort and a sense of normality during a challenging time. The festive atmosphere was enhanced with complementary pan chicken, drinks, branded merchandise, and music, creating a joyful and welcoming celebration.

Nicole Hall, the commercial marketing manager for CB Foods, shared the reason for hosting the initiative.

“After relocating PAN to St Elizabeth due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl, it was essential for us to remind the community that they remain in our thoughts even after the event. PAN has always represented more than just an event; it’s about the people, their resilience, and their stories. We wanted this initiative to make a meaningful impact, especially during a season that symbolises love and generosity,” said Hall.

She continued, “Our CEO, Garth Channer, supported this initiative as he is from St Elizabeth, and connected us with the councillor, making this initiative close to home. Unicomer Group, through Courts, leads the initiative.”
