Kingston vendor charged with rape

A 39-year-old Kingston vendor who, along with another man, allegedly raped a woman at gun point in January, has been charged.

A police statement on Monday said he is Dean Thompson, otherwise known as ‘Dean Anderson,’ of Fourth Street in downtown Kingston.

The Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse charged him with rape, forcible abduction, aid and abet grievous sexual assault, aid and abet possession of prohibited weapon, and assault at common law.

The police say the assault took place at about 7 p.m. in the Three Miles area in St Andrew on January 11.

Thompson allegedly took the woman to a house where they met Troy Lewis, who was previously charged.

According to the police, Lewis pointed a firearm at the woman and demanded sex before he and Thompson took turns sexually assaulting her.

She was released the morning after the ordeal and a report was made to the police.

Thompson is scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on February 26.
