A 38-year-old farmer has been charged with murder following the shooting death of another farmer in Grange Hill, Westmoreland, on March 14.

Shawn Williams, also known as ‘Chang,’ of Grange Hill, was formally charged after detectives linked him to the killing of 54-year-old Frank Dellop, otherwise called ‘Rasta.’

He has also been charged with using a firearm to commit a felony, according to a police statement issued on Friday.

According to police reports, Dellop was standing along the Grange Hill main road around 7:45 p.m. when gunfire rang out.

Members of a police team later found him with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Williams was implicated during the investigation and later charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
