Seven top-tier United States (US) travel specialists who recently visited Kingston and Port Antonio, Portland, for an immersive destination experience, on the invitation of the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), have affirmed their commitment to selling both resort areas.

The travel professionals were on the island for a week, looking at accommodations and amenities, Jamaica Carnival, other cultural assets, cuisine and attractions in the eastern resort areas. They were impressed by the high level and the diversity of the offerings of both areas, as well as by the outstanding hospitality provided for them by Courtleigh Hotel Group in Kingston and GeeJam, a luxury boutique hotel in Port Antonio.

“This trip to Jamaica was truly one love,” Correy from The Travel Network in Brooklyn, New York, told The Gleaner just before her departure.

“Each breathtaking experience only made me love Jamaica more, and I thank the JTB and its wonderful partners for enabling me to make new memories that I will pass along to my clients.

“My recent visit to Kingston and Port Antonio was a vibrant, soulful experience,” shared Marlene Johnson, CEO and travel adviser for the MJ Travel Group & Events. “A highlight was my visit to GeeJam, a true hidden gem that blends luxury, music and nature in the most magical way. Jamaica continues to prove that it is not just a destination - it’s an experience that inspires.”

Johnson is consistently a top-50 producing seller for Jamaica, reaping rewards from events like Dream Weekend in Negril, Westmoreland. While she has already seen a resistance to travel from green card holders with advanced bookings, she says she is resolute in assuring tourists that it is okay to travel, despite the adverse immigration direction from the Trump administration.

Kim Morrison, a New York City agent who specialises in weddings, raved about the Courtleigh Group and GeeJam, among other fascinating components of the trip.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the reggae dance class at The Jamaica Pegasus, as well as the scenic journey through the Blue Mountains and the John Crow Mountains, enjoying Irish Town, Newcastle and coffee plantations along the way as we headed to Port Antonio.”

This Jamaica immersive experience was curated by JTB’s Victoria Harper, district sales manager for the Northeast US.

“Our Jamaica travel specialists are our trusted, loyal partners and travel experts, and this firsthand experience equips them to create personalised memories of our ravishingly beautiful island home,” Harper said, beaming.
