Wisynco marks Child Month with community outreach across Jamaica
Wisynco Group Limited carried out a series of community outreach activities focused on supporting students and schools across Jamaica to mark Child Month 2025.
Team members from Wisynco’s Hague Distribution Centre participated in Career Day at Holland High School in Trelawny on May 1. Staff spent time engaging with students through one-on-one career talks, offering words of encouragement and sharing Wisynco treats to help make the day memorable.
As part of Read Across Jamaica Day on May 6, representatives from Wisynco’s Human Resources and Communications Ambassador teams visited Free Town Primary School in Clarendon. The group read to students across all 14 classrooms, sharing stories and encouraging a love for books. Students were also gifted small tokens of appreciation which brought smiles to their faces and helped to further reinforce the importance of reading.
For Labour Day 2025, Wisynco sponsored and partnered with the Bridgeport High School in St Catherine to support their Wellness Garden Project, which forms part of a broader initiative led by the Ministry of Health and Wellness. The day’s highlight was the official groundbreaking of the garden, signalling the beginning of work on a space that will include benches, plants, a fountain, and a wellness board to support student’s well-being and mindfulness. Wisynco also provided volunteers from its Human Resources and Communications Ambassador teams along with a hydration station to keep volunteers refreshed throughout the day’s proceedings.
According to Wisynco Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mahfood, supporting youth-focused initiatives remains a key priority for the company.
“Our young people are the future of Jamaica, and it’s our responsibility to support, encourage, and invest in them,” he shared. “At Wisynco, we’re committed to helping build stronger communities through education, wellness, and empowerment. These Child’s Month activities are just one way we aim to contribute, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.”
