Woman fatally struck by car in St James

A woman in St James has died from injuries sustained after being hit by a car while crossing a road on Tuesday night.
She has been identified as 42-year-old Carol Campbell of Birch Hill district in the parish.
Reports are that around 11:05 p.m., Campbell was walking along the roadway when, upon reaching the vicinity of Harvey Beach, she ran across the road and into the path of a car.
She was struck and sustained severe injuries.
Campbell was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Coral Gardens Traffic Department is investigating the incident.
