Braeton residents protest police killing of teenager

There is now a fiery protest in Braeton, Portmore in St Catherine after the fatal shooting of a teenager.

Details surrounding the incident are not clear, however residents claimed that the teen was shot by the police.

The incident, which occurred sometime after 8 p.m., has caused unease in Phase 3 of Braeton.

Angry residents started a fiery protest using old tyres and other debris to block the roadway, causing inconvenience to motorists.

Personnel from the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) are reportedly at the scene of the incident after being notified.

Up to June 19, INDECOM was probing 154 police fatal shootings.
